Kristen Jacobs
This is my ninth year at Jay M Robinson and my 15th within CMS. However, I have been teaching in local and regional educational programs for a total of 19 years.
I have a technical background with studies at Julliard, the Purchase Dance Conservatory, Virginia School of the Arts and the Atlanta Ballet School. I have performed professionally in New York and North Carolina. I received my K-12 dance educator licensure from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My philosophy on dance education is that the art of dance is attainable by anyone. This art form teaches to the whole child. I have been the coach for both Dance Ensemble and Show Choir for the past several years. In each of the years that our school has competed we have advanced to the state finals for each of these events and have never placed lower than 3rd and in the 2016-2017 school year Jay M Robinson was the state champion for both. In 2016-2017, I was named Coach of the Year for the NC Association of Scholastic Activities (NCASA) and this year I will be serving as the Director of all NCASA activities and competitions for Jay M. Robinson. |
